This traditional harness leather is ideal for equestrian gear, yet, when split to a lower weight, it’s equally suitable for leather goods. Selected in this perfect buck brown color, this is just about as perfect a leather we can think of.
The leather has been thinned down quite a bit to suit most watches. If you are looking for a strap on the thicker side, please look elsewhere (and look perhaps at our Portofino or Riviera collections instead). This strap is offered without stitching. This allows the leather to shine through.
Using an exclusive blend of waxes, oils, and tallows, the tannery hot stuffs these leathers to bring out their inherent beauty. Through a traditional process called jack glazing, oils are brought to the surface to create a glossy finish that never mask the leather’s natural grain. As a result, this leather will age beautifully. It will initially pick up all the scratches and scuffs, the trick here is to go with it and not against this ageing process. After some wear the strap will look quite different from new, making these one of our favorite leathers in the atelier.
